Creating a Cube from a Basis

  1. On the Vertex Modeling tab, click the Cube button .
  2. In the Tool Properties palette, click the Basis option .

  1. In the workspace, click where you want the basis of the cube to be.

Note: You can also enter values for the basis’ X, Y, and Z coordinates in the Center X, Y, and Z fields in the Tool Properties palette. Although using the mouse to create the cube’s starting point is easier, manually entering the basis coordinates can give you more precise control.

  1. Drag the mouse up to create the cube above the basis, with the basis being the middle of the bottom edge of the cube.

OR

Drag the mouse down to create the cube below the basis, with the basis being the middle of the top edge of the cube.

  1. When the cube is the correct size, click the mouse to finish creating the cube. You can also press Enter or click the Validate button to create the cube.
