The Tool Properties panel when creating a cube

from a center point.

  1. In the Tool Properties palette, click the Center option .

Note: You can also enter values for the center’s X, Y, and Z coordinates in the Center X, Y, and Z fields in the Tool Properties palette. Although using the mouse to create the cube’s starting point is easier, manually entering the center coordinates can give you more precise control.

  1. In the workspace, click where you want the center of the cube to be.
  2. Drag the mouse to create the cube. As you drag the mouse, the cube is scaled outward from the center, creating each of the six sides equidistant from the center.
  3. When the cube is the correct size, click the mouse to finish creating the cube. You can also press Enter or click the Validate button to create the cube.
