Using the Cube Tool
The Cube tool is one of the most commonly used tools
in box modeling. Starting with a simple cube, you can modify points, edges,
and facets, and use advanced tools like sweep, bend, and smooth to create
complex models.

The Cube tool is the first button
on the Vertex Modeling tab.
The Cube tool is the first button on the Vertex
Modeling tab in Hexagon, or you can access it by clicking Tools on
the Hexagon menu bar, pointing to Vertex modeling, and then clicking
Cube.
You can create the cube from either a center or a
basis. If you create from a center, the cube is created with all six sides
equidistant from the center point that you specify. A basis, on the other
hand, is the middle point of either the top or bottom edge of the cube. If
you drag the mouse up when creating the cube, the basis is the middle of the
bottom edge, with the cube created above it. If you drag the mouse down, the
basis is the middle of the top edge.
Although most cubes are created as uniform objects
with all sides the same size and distance from the center, you can create
non-uniform cubes in Hexagon by manually entering the height, width, and
depth of the cube.
